Emily Carrington is a Year 12 student at the Purcell School, where she studies the oboe with James Turnbull and Melanie Ragge. She is an Associate member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Born in Slovenia, Emily is a British-Swedish oboist. She began her musical journey in Surrey, where she performed with a number of local youth orchestras before being invited to join the Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra as Principal Oboe.
Emily has received multiple awards at the Godalming Music Festival and is an active orchestral musician, regularly performing with both youth and adult ensembles across Surrey and the surrounding area. Alongside her oboe studies, she is also a second study classical singer, and has been a chorister at St Thomas-on-the-Bourne Church in Farnham since 2019, where she has been awarded the RSCM Gold Award.
